Message from the Swarthmore Police Chief

The Swarthmore Police want to make residents aware, that on Saturday June 8th, a resident on Cedar Ln was bitten by a raccoon. Officers were able to capture the animal, which was turned over to the PA State Game Commission. Subsequent testing of the animal proved positive for Rabies. Residents should use caution when approaching wildlife, and dial 911, so police can respond and take the appropriate action. Any questions, resident are encouraged to call the Swarthmore Borough  Police @ 610-543-0123 or 911 to have an officer respond to your residence.
