Did you know that recycling is required for everyone in Swarthmore?  This includes all residences, including multi-family buildings, and commercial, municipal and institutional establishments.   Recycling is also required at any community event (including fairs and sporting events) attended by more than 200 people. 

What must be recycled?  Residential:  All color of glass, aluminum, steel and bi-metal cans, #1 and #2 plastic, all paper, cardboard, and yard waste.  Commercial, municipal and Institutional:  High-grade office paper, aluminum, glass, plastic, corrugated paper, and leaf waste.  

Recyclable items should never be commingled with regular trash.
